This is Ron. This sweet boy really went through the ringer before he finally made it to his forever home. He came to us from a rural shelter, after having surgery from being hit by a car. He came already scheduled to go on transport, but we knew immediately something was wrong. He was extremely emaciated and obviously in a lot of pain. After our health check, it was discovered that Ron had a painful bone chip in his hip. He underwent surgery again, and had a slow recovery. He had some emotional issues as well; he was afraid to cross thresholds, and had to be encouraged to eat. Thanks to several foster homes and volunteers, he was finally able to be scheduled for transport almost a year after he came to us. But he is happy and healthy now in his forever home.
